David Bowie is the reason for much of the current resurgence in sales of vinyl records.  Really.  Along with Queen, most album sales this past year were reissues of Bowie’s albums, especially his influential catalog from the 1970s.  Much like last week’s Deep Dive featured artist, Elvis Costello, dozens of compilations stretch across his career.

Crafting each album visually and conceptually, Bowie morphed through styles and sounds.  Fans may latch onto Ziggy Stardust, the Thin White Duke, Space Oddity, or Hunky Dory, through his recent era.  No matter which stage of David Bowie music you enjoy, his legacy remains in 20th century popular music.
