Since Elvis Costello emerged from London’s pub-punk scene in the late 1970s, he pushed boundaries with his music.  Costello was part of the influential Stiff Records roster when he launched into recognition.  Although his music never sounded particularly punk, his attitude and lyrics remain edgy and ever-changing.

With nearly 3 dozen releases, Elvis Costello albums range from New Wave to Jazz, Classical Scores to deep Country covers.  If you don’t like a particular album, just try another because it’s probably completely different.  His most recent album released in 2018, Look Now, continuing his long-time writing collaboration with Burt Bacharach.

This week on the Deep Dive, we will fly through Costello’s catalog.  For some albums, we’ll dig in with several songs.  On other records, we will touch on one tune from each release.  Join me, as we dig in to Elvis Costello!
