Deep Dive Texas: Janis Joplin

I exist because of Janis Joplin.  My parents’ first date was to see the Staples Family Singers with Big Brother and the Holding Company at the Fillmore East in New York.  I grew up with Big Brother and the Holding Company, Kozmic Blues Band, and Janis Joplin albums on repeat.  Sadly and infamously, addiction took the Texan’s life.
