How often do you brush your teeth?
Wow! I brush twice a day, but maybe I need to up my game? How about y’all?
Medical headlines indicate that “Brushing Your Teeth Three Times A Day Could Lower The Risk Of Heart Failure.”
While brushing your teeth twice a day is something you likely learned starting from a young age, perhaps you should consider fitting in a third daily trip to the sink. According to scientists from Ewha Woman’s University in South Korea, keeping your teeth their cleanest is really good for the heart.
Published Monday in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, the study results showed that brushing teeth three or more times per day led to a lower risk of irregular heartbeats and a reduced risk of heart failure. The researchers believe that brushing more frequently removes bacteria in the mouth that could lead to these conditions from entering the bloodstream.
