Mellencamp Keeps Painting Little Pink Houses

Thirty-four years after the release of “Little Pink Houses,” John Mellencamp has expanded his color palette, purchasing a New York residence to paint.
While the singer maintains a home in Indiana, he decided to set up his art studio in the Big Apple to be closer to his fiancee, Meg Ryan.
“Meg lives here in New York,” Mellencamp says. “There’s no place to paint where she lives. So I bout this place to paint.”
Where he finds time for Ryan is anyone’s guess. Mellencamp says he paints up to 12 hours a day, and is finishing work on his 24th studio album.
