1.  “Halloween Ends” is in theaters and also streaming on Peacock.  (R)  Trailer

Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode for a final battle with her brother.  It takes place four years after last year’s “Halloween Kills”, where Michael Myers succeeded in killing Laurie’s daughter Karen.

Now Laurie is living with her granddaughter and writing her memoir.

Andi Matichak returns as Allyson, James Judge Courtney is back as Michael, and Kyle Richards is back as Lindsey, the girl Laurie was babysitting back in the ’70s during Michael’s first killing spree.

This marks the end of the most recent trilogy, and Jamie Lee Curtis has already said she’s done playing Laurie after this movie.

Stupid One-Liner:  “Halloween Ends”, the supposed final entry in the “Halloween” series, is out now.  Spoiler Alert:  Michael Myers is finally defeated after making fun of Jada Pinkett’s hair.

2.  “Till”  (PG-13)  Trailer  (Limited)

This is the emotionally devastating true story of one of America’s most notorious hate crimes, the murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till, who was kidnapped, tortured, and lynched by white supremacists in 1955.

The movie is heart-wrenchingly told from his mother’s perspective.

After Emmett’s death, Mamie Till demanded an open casket funeral so the world would see what was done to her son.  Then she fought through her grief to try to get justice for her son, even though she knew no white jury in Mississippi would ever convict her son’s killers.

The tragedy of Emmett’s death and the court’s failure to give his family justice helped launch the civil rights movement.  Despite that, it wasn’t until this year that lynching was recognized as a federal hate crime.

Mamie Till is played by Danielle Deadwyler, who’s already being talked about as a frontrunner for the Best Actress Oscar.  The rest of the cast includes Whoopi Goldberg and Frankie Faison as her parents, and Jalyn Hall from “All American” as Emmett.
