Someone Built A Distraction-Free Cellphone

Tired of the constant buzzing of notifications on your smart device? You’re not alone.

Justine Haupt set about building a distraction-free cell phone for her daily use, salvaging parts from an old rotary phone along with some custom designed pieces.

No emails or texts can come in. The only information the curved screen displays is the number of any missed calls.

Haupt details the benefits of the device on her website: “It fits in a pocket; It’s reasonably compact; calling the people I most often call is faster than with my old phone, and the battery lasts almost 24 hours.”

What do you mainly use your phone for these days?

How much of your day is spent just clearing notifications?
